Breastfeeding and Pumping Class - Weekend

This is a combination class of both breastfeeding and pumping getting everything done in one afternoon especially is the due date is coming closer too fast. As with all our classes partners /spouses are encouraged to come learn and support the new mom. 

The cost of this class includes the mother and one support person.

If you are coughing, sneezing, have a runny nose or fever please call and reschedule. 

Come on the side of the hospital with the duck pond – that is the Women’s Center side. The garage is straight ahead from the duck pond the doors of the Women’s Center will be on your left as you drive in. Go into the lobby of the Women’s Center there are elevators on your right take those down to the basement then follow the signs to your classroom.   

You must cancel prior to the class to receive a refund.

In this class you will learn about car seat safety and how newborns should ride in a car. We also cover how to select a safety seat and how to use and install child restraints correctly. Following the class, participants will go outside to their cars and install their car seats with the guidance of a certified car seat technician.

The event will be held at North Florida Regional Medical Center - Women's Center Basement Classroom located at 6500 W Newberry Rd, Gainsville, FL 32605.

You may park in the Women’s Center Parking garage, enter the Women’s Center lobby and take the elevator to the basement level. Go right when exiting the elevator and the room will be toward the end of the long hallway on the left.

Please bring your car seat and the base. Please leave the base in your car. After the class the instructor will have you bring your car up to the Women's Center entry way for you to practice installing your car seat properly.

This allows you to instruct other family members that may be around the baby in the basics of CPR. There is also a short DVD on home safety. This is NOT a certifying class.

The Community Room Classroom is located to the right of the lobby of the Main Entrance of the hospital. Off Newberry Road, take the driveway to the Emergency Room. The first building on your right is the Main Entrance of the hospital on the left hand side is a parking lot. You may park there if there are no spots continue down the drive way and the next building on your left is the parking garage. Walk back to the Main Entrance of the hospital. You will be underneath a cement carport. On your right hand side you will see valet parking on your left a black granite ball fountain. Next go thru the two sets of double doors the minute you step foot in the hospital go to the right you will see a seating area just beyond the seating area is a classroom with a set of double wooden doors with leaded glass insets. That is your classroom! If you see the security desk you have gone too far.

The assistant vice-president of orthopedic services at North Florida Regional Medical Center or the Director of Rehab Services at the hospital will discuss all aspects of care for knee and hip replacement patients – things patients should know and do before, during and after hospitalization for joint replacement procedures.  Topics include everything from exercise to nutrition to medication communication – everything that affects joint replacement.  The goal is the smoothest and fastest recovery possible.  The presentation includes plenty of time for questions and answers of those attending.

This event takes place at the Pre-Op Services on the campus of North Florida Regional Medical Center, 1021 North West 64th Terrace, Ganesville. FL 32605.

From Interstate-75: Take exit 387 for Newberry Road (State Road 26). Head east on Newberry Road and pass 2 traffic lights. Turn left onto NW 66th Street which is the main entrance of North Florida Regional Medical Center Continue straight ahead past the Emergency Department. The road will curve to your right and become NW 10th Road. The Pre-op Preadmission Center will be on your right side just before you reach The Cancer Center.

From Highway 441: Turn West onto University Avenue (Newberry Road, State Road 26). Proceed for approximately 4 miles and remain in the right lane. Go past the entrance for The Women’s Center and the duck pond. Turn right at the next stoplight onto NW 66th Street which is the main entrance of North Florida Regional Medical Center Continue straight ahead past the Emergency Department. The road will curve to your right and become NW 10th Road.

The road will curve to your right and become NW 10th Road. The Pre-op Preadmission Center will be on your right side just before you reach The Cancer Center.

From Highway 441: Turn West onto University Avenue (Newberry Road, State Road 26). Proceed for approximately 4 miles and remain in the right lane. Go past the entrance for The Women’s Center and the duck pond. Turn right at the next stoplight onto NW 66th Street which is the main entrance of North Florida Regional Medical Center Continue straight ahead past the Emergency Department. The road will curve to your right and become NW 10th Road.
